About

Welcome to "My Game Archive"! I created this site as a place to record my thoughts on the greatest game on Earth....Basketball. Specifically, NBA basketball. I have been a life-long fan and can, hopefully, share some insightful and entertaining thoughts on different games across the Association (and occasionally basketball in other forms).

My love of the game began in the late 80's/early 90's. Forever a fan of the underdog, I grew up a huge New York Knicks supporter. While the Knicks, with legends like Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, and John Starks (at least in my opinion these are legends), were a dominant team, they always fell short to the Bulls (understandable and heart breaking) and, at times, to the Pacers (unacceptable).

This love of the Knicks led to a hatred of Michael Jordan. His year after year dominance against my Knicks was hard to take. Towards the end of his career (pre-Wizards) I came to appreciate his greatness rather than root against it. I never became a Bulls fan, but came to enjoy watching him play. I still regret all the years I avoided watching him play. I have learned from this though. I try to watch greatness before it goes away. The Tim Duncan Spurs, the Curry/Thompson/Durant Warriors, the current OKC Thunder. I never liked the Shaq/Kobe Lakers (and still don't), but the Kobe years with Gasol and Odom I did like.

Around 2000, I moved to the Bay Area, and due to it being the only thing I could watch consistently on TV...I became a Warriors fan. Having survived the horrid years of Warriors basketball (horrid might be too strong. they were fun to watch even when they were losing games year after year after year) I got to revel in the joy of the Dynasty that came. The Warriors have surpassed the Knicks as my favorite team and I don't think that'll ever change.

Ok, I've rambled enough.

I understand that blogs are probably outdated at this point and I have low expectations for viewership, but we'll see.

Welcome and thank you for stopping by.

Celtics at Wizards

I had a few minutes more than I thought and watched a bit of the Wizards/Celtics game (turned it on right before half-time. I must say, I really do like the Wizards roster. No huge superstars, but a lot of solid young guys and vets. Middleton and McCollum are great vets (both of whom can score) and Johnson, Saar. I like Bagley too (saw him block Maxey like 3 times in a row the other night). Again, I don't think they're going to do anything  special this year...maybe not even win 20 games...but they're a solid team that should make most games competitive at least. Thoughts on the game: - Wizards uniform. Nice throwback to the Arenas era. Hopefully without the locker room gun play.  - Why do the Celtics have so many bald players?  - Middleton needs to tuck in his shirt. Where's Chris Paul when you need him? - Good to see Sam "Xenomorph" Cassell coaching - Why is this guy on the Celtics?  - Did I say games would be close? Uhh. - 8 minutes left in the 4th. Turning...

Games of the Night (and not) Friday 12/5

Unlike yesterday, lots of good games on the docket. Games of the night (in order) 1. Mavericks at Thunder. After a terrible start, Mavs are looking like a legit team again (and they're still not completely healthy). Cooper Flagg is also starting to play more aggressive and looking like the generational talent many think him to be. The Thunder are the Thunder. All time great team. Should be fun to watch. 2. Spurs at Cavs. Wemby is amazing. Any chance to watch him you should take advantage of. I always worry about bigs and their long term health so try to see as much of Wemby as you can while you can. Beyond Wemby, Spurs are loaded with exciting players and their fast play and tough defense is fun to watch. 3. Lakers at Celtics. I'm not going to watch this and this is really only here for the history. Always good to hear some "Beat LA" chants. Not game of the night 1. 76ers at Bucks. Two injured teams. Barlow, Edgecombe, and Maxey are fun to watch. So not too bad. 2....

Knicks at Toronto

I turned this game on in the 3rd. Ugly game. The Knicks had a pretty solid lead when I turned it on but it is so sloppy. Passes are ugly, dribbling is ugly, no one can catch. There is no way a team in the East wins the Championship this year. Maybe if the Celtics get healthy, but they played like trash in last year's playoffs.  Collin Murray-Boyles was just murdered under the hoop and no foul call. If that was Luca there would have been seven flagrants and an ejection.  Holy crap! A travel was called!! Notorious B13 is nice. We love to see him on a contender. Such a boring game.  Knicks better hope Brunson doesn't get injured. Even with KAT, no Brunson = Lottery team. Brunson and Ingram are my MVPs for this game
